Advice and support

In Finland, advice, guidance and support related to the exceptional situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic can be obtained from telephone services and various information service points. If you feel lonely, are worried about your own or a loved one’s ability to cope, or otherwise feel under pressure from the situation, reach out – don’t suffer alone.

Nationwide coronavirus helpline

The general coronavirus helpline, which operates throughout Finland, provides general information on the coronavirus from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 9 pm and on Saturdays
from 9 am to 3 pm. The service, carried out in cooperation with the authorities, is available primarily in Finnish, but also in English insofar as possible.

Finnish Association for Mental Health crisis helpline

The Arabic-language crisis helpline also provides service in English. Calls to the helpline are made anonymously and confidentially. Crisis work professionals and trained volunteers from all over Finland respond to calls. The crisis helpline provides conversational assistance to those in crisis and their loved ones. The crisis telephone is on call Monday and Tuesday from 11 am to 3 pm, Wednesdays from 1 pm to 4 pm and 5 pm to 9 pm, and Thursdays from 10 am to 3 pm.

Saaga Multicultural meeting point, Kouvola

Kymsote immigration services

Kymsote’s immigration services are responsible for the social and health services of asylum-seekers and quota refugees who have been granted a place in the municipality. Kymsote’s
immigrant support is carried out through social work, social counselling, a wide range of service counselling and health counselling.
